FOR ALL Reference Photos...
A relaxed, happy facial pose is best. Eyes faced forward, lips closed. (We will not sculpt smiling that exposes teeth as it does not translate into the medium.)
Please style hair exactly how you want it to be portrayed and wear any jewelry we need to depict. Keep in mind, we can not depict hair beyond the shoulder area.
If Taking New Reference Photos...
Reference photos should be taken at eye level with the subject--not higher or lower than eye level due to lens distortion. Try to take photo at least 2 feet away from subject.

The focus point of the image should be the center of the head (for profile view) and center of the face (for frontal view). If taken incorrectly facial features may look larger or smaller than they actually appear due to lens distortion.

If Using Existing Reference Photos...
Existing reference photos (such as a vintage family photo) must be clear and show enough detail to make out facial features. If you are using existing reference photos instead of providing new ones, please upload as many detailed face photos of your subject as possible.
If you are limited to the photos available of your subject, please provide the absolute best references you have. Obscure photo references may not be sufficient to accurately portray your subject.
